Anthropic Grants EU Access to Mythos
Anthropic will grant ENISA, the EU's cybersecurity agency, access to Claude Mythos through Project Glasswing, its limited testing program for vetted organizations. European Commission officials traveled to San Francisco last week to request access following weeks of discussions, with Anthropic communicating the decision over the weekend. Mythos is capable of identifying and exploiting unknown vulnerabilities in IT systems and is currently available only to a small number of trusted organizations. OpenAI is separately in discussions with the Commission over access to its own AI cybersecurity model.
FedEx Completes Freight Spinoff
FedEx (FDX) completed the spinoff of FedEx Freight Holding Company (FDXF) today, establishing FDXF as a standalone publicly traded company and the largest North American less-than-truckload carrier for small and mid-size businesses. FDXF enters the market with roughly 355 service centers, ~30K vehicles, and ~39K employees across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. FDX retained 19.9% of outstanding FDXF shares, to be disposed of within 24 months through debt exchanges or shareholder distributions. CEO Raj Subramaniam called the separation a "pivotal milestone" for both companies.
SoftBank Backs France AI Infrastructure Push
SoftBank (SFTBY) announced plans to invest at least €45B (~$52B), potentially reaching €75B (~$87B), in French data centers targeting up to 5 GW of computing capacity at sites in Dunkirk, Bosquel, and Bouchain by 2031. SFTBY called it its largest AI infrastructure commitment in Europe, with France positioned as a continental AI hub. The company will partner with Schneider Electric (SBGSY) to manufacture data center components near Dunkirk. The announcement came ahead of French President Macron's annual investment conference today.
Nvidia Unveils Physical AI Platform
Nvidia (NVDA) is up +2% in premarket trading after unveiling a broad physical AI and agent toolkit today. The centerpiece is Cosmos 3, an open omnimodel that generates text, images, video, sound, and physical actions with high physics accuracy, cutting AI training cycles from months to days. NVDA also launched Nemotron 3 Ultra, a 550B-parameter model for enterprise agents, and Alpamayo 2 Super, a purpose-built reasoning model for level-4 autonomous driving. Palantir (PLTR), CrowdStrike (CRWD), and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) are among the first companies deploying the new tools.
